Paypal to Equity Withdrawal

Before 2014 in Kenya, PayPal to Equity withdrawals were virtually impossible but with the latest partnership with Equity Bank such withdrawals are now possible. Today, Kenyans living or working overseas can send money to their relatives in Kenya through PayPal and then finally withdraw it to their Equity bank accounts. But there is a catch, this service is only limited to Equity bank members.

PayPal to Equity Withdrawal Process
  1. First you will have to open a PayPal account by clicking here>>. After that, you will be asked to verify your account with either a debit or a credit card.
  2. To verify, first load your card with $2 dollars or about Sh.200 and then feed your card details on the card verification PayPal page. (Do not try to link an empty card as the verification process will not be successful)
  3. Then click the 'verify link' provided. In the process, PayPal will debit $1.95 or so from your card but the same will be refunded to your PayPal account and so you will lose no money.
  4. After verifying your account, visit the  Equity withdrawal page and follow the instructions given there.
  5. You will be asked to enter your Equity account number and then you will be issued with a one time PIN code that will be sent to the contact number or email address you provided to Equity bank when you were opening your account.
  6. Once you get it enter it on the withdrawal screen to authorize the process. After this you will be provided with dollar conversion rate of the day and the withdrawal charges applicable (the charges are extremely low) If you are satisfied with them, proceed to withdraw.
  7. After this you will be redirected to your PayPal account where you will have to log in and withdrawal the amount you want and bingo! You are done!
It takes about 5 to 8 days for the money to reflect to an Equity bank account. For more information about PayPal to Equity withdrawals contact an Equity Bank customer care or visit their website.
